Are you a teacher or educator looking for unique experiences to complement your curriculum? See if a trip to the Museum of the Oregon Territory or the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House is the right fit for you class. Subsidized or reduced fees may be available.
Field Trips at the Museum of the Oregon Territory
Topics include indigenous culture, people of the Willamette Valley, industrial history of Clackamas County, and more.
Hands-on activities available throughout the museum, including telegraph stations, a power distribution game, trivia, and activities that allow kids to bring home their own souvenirs.
Can be guided or self-guided, with Scavenger Hunt activity sheets available upon request.
Museum accessible by wheelchair and other mobility aids via elevator. Handicap parking available.
Highlight includes two new exhibits: “Land & People of the Willamette Valley: A History Shaped by the River” and “Jennings Lodge Camp: A Gathering Place for Faith, Community, and Revival.”
Field Trips at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House
A 1908 Edwardian home that gives students an idea of what life was like during the turn of the century.
Features the Mertie’s Time Machine program, an interactive, hands-on, escape-room-inspired classroom adventure designed for 4th and 5th-grade students. Students pair up into groups of 4 to 6 to follow clues and join together with their classmates at the end to complete the classroom objective.
Paired with the Ermatinger House to accommodate up to four groups of students (maximum of 25 students per group).
