School Programs

Our museum is an excellent field trip destination for students of all grade levels and abilities! Groups receive a guided tour as well as a historically-themed, interactive lesson. All activities and lessons meet Oregon Common Core standards. Examples include:

  • Native Peoples' trading language, where students learn to trade goods in the Chinuk Wawa language (still spoken today by members of many local tribes).
  • Power from the Falls, where students build and troubleshoot a Willamette Falls transmission line, as well as test the conductivity of many common objects.

Tours and programs are available to students at all levels. Younger children may prefer our historic storytelling and book circle option, and tours can be tailored for students with Autism spectrum disorder or cognitive disabilities. Email Director of Programs Corinne Rupp or call 503.655.5574 to see if we can design a program for your group!
